Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Center Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Center

The VITA Center at Los Angeles AFB is part of the Legal Assistance Program and provides free tax advice and tax preparation assistance to military members of all branches of service, retired military, their family members and qualifying civilians. The trained tax preparers, under the direct supervision of a federally licensed Enrolled Agent, are prepared to address many military-specific tax issues, including combat zone tax benefits and the Military Spouse Residency Relief Act.

Most clients will file their federal and state returns electronically and receive their refunds in less than 2 weeks. The Tax Center prepared over 1200 state and federal returns, helped clients file claims for more than $1.5M federal and state refunds, and saved their clients more than $150,000 in tax preparations fees.

The Tax Center is open year-round and located in the Staff Judge Advocate Office, Building 271, First Floor. For more information or to make an appointment, please call (310) 653-3474.
