Note: Air Force senior leaders directed a force-wide hiring freeze among other workforce actions in a memorandum sent to senior commanders Jan. 16. The actions are part of the Air Force's efforts to pursue reversible or recoverable steps to avoid impacts to core readiness caused by the looming possibility of sequestration and budgetary shortfalls.

Located in the heart of the nation's aerospace industrial center, Los Angeles Air Force Base's Schriever Space Complex is where our military space program began and where its future is being defined and acquired today! THE STUDENT CAREER EXPERIENCE PROGRAM: The Space & Missile Systems Center periodically announces applications for Student Trainee positions under the Student Career Experience Program (SCEP). This program provides an opportunity for students to gain work experience directly related to their academic or career goals while pursuing their degree at least half-time. Students are eligible for advanced promotions, health and life insurance, Thrift Savings Retirement Plan (similar to a 401(k), as well as vacation and sick time. Employment may continue beyond graduation. The SCEP trainee becomes eligible for permanent employment after successfully completing education and work requirements.
